CONSULTATIONS
Hands on comprehensive evaluations include a detailed history of the problem(s), in-depth physical exam, and end with a discussion and education of the diagnosis and treatment plan.
History: I recommend coming to the visit with concerns written down in a list form. A history form will be sent prior to your scheduled appointments to help guide the history of the problem(s).
Physical Exam: Ever have hip pain and no one touched your hip? Not with Dr. Black! In fact, it is often important to check the joint above and below the problem joint. It may be important for Dr. Black to see you walk, run, squat. Please wear comfortable clothing to this visit.
Diagnosis Discussion & Education: Dr. Black will take time to explain the most likely diagnosis and answer any questions you may have. There are no dumb questions. It is important that you understand what is going on, with your body, so that you can make a well informed decision of how best to treat the problem area(s).
Individualized Treatment Plan: Dr. Black will explain what options she is able to offer to best treat the diagnosis made at the visit. If Dr. Black is able to offer a procedure, then benefits, risks, and costs will be discussed. Discussion of referrals to therapy, labs, or imaging will be made. If Dr. Black is not able to personally offer treatment options than she will facilitate recommendations and referrals to the most appropriate physician or provider.
