WHAT IS PRI BASED PHYSICAL THERAPY?

The Postural Restoration Institute® (PRI) was established in 2000.

Some PT's have chosen to become a PRI certified and some PT's have taken the courses and applied the theories in their practice. Seeing a certified PRI therapist is not always necessary but seeing a PT that applies this approach can be valuable.

This approach addresses underlying biomechanics which can often lead to symptoms of pain and dysfunction. All mechanical influences on the body that restrict movement and contribute to improper joint and muscle position are considered, examined, and assessed. Non-manual and manual techniques are utilized to restore proper alignment of the body while proper respiratory dynamics are considered. Management encompasses prevention and lifetime integration for long-term successful outcomes.
